Understand How Shopify's New App Can Help Customers To Find Local Stores Easily

Shopify is one of the leading eCommerce platform these days which provides you a number of features like a user-friendly interface, shopping cart, order management, dropshipping blog integration, a huge theme store to select the best theme for your store, email templates, multiple payment gateways, shipping carriers and lot more.

Here we are discussing Shopify's new app, a consumer app that lets users discover local businesses, receive relevant product recommendations from their favorite brands, check out effortlessly, and track all their online orders.

The app has a search feature that lets consumers find local stores and access their pickup and delivery options.

The Shop app makes it easy for consumers to ask a question or make a return.

Auto-tracking of orders and receipts, storing them in a single place and accessing policies and returns with one tap are par for the course for any mobile shopping app, observed Rebecca Wettemann, principal at Valoir

"The difference I see is it's exposing shoppers to smaller retailers that can't necessarily offer their own app to remain competitive," she told the E-Commerce Times. "This is particularly important right now, with the pressures on smaller retailers and consumers' desire to support local businesses."

Consumers "are very resistant to downloading e-commerce apps for small retailers because it's just not worth the hassle," said Mark Lewis, CEO of Netalico.

The Shop app is available for both iOS and Android

Bringing It Together
The Shop application coordinates highlights from Shop Pay, a single click quickened checkout, and Arrive, a Shopify app to follow online requests. Shop Pay has prepared more than US$8 billion in deals up until this point, while 16 million customers have used to Arrive to follow their e-commerce business orders.

I faltered onto Arrive around two months prior and need to concede I was doubtful from the outset," commented Liz Miller, a head investigator at Constellation Research. "Why on the planet did I need an application to follow the entirety of this when I can do something very similar inside every retailer's e-commerce site?"

Now, she's a believer. "Multiple retailers, multiple shippers, all in one spot, including details on my order, stock availability, multiple packages ... right there," she told the E-Commerce Times.

"I'm in on using Shop based on how easy my checkout experience has been at Shopify retailers and then with this app," Miller said.

Protection and Security
shoppers' own subtleties won't be sold, and they can erase their record whenever said Shopify. Its servers meet PCI compliance guidelines for putting away charge credit data, and shoppers' close to home and payment details are encrypted end to end.

The Shop application has been confirmed freely to deal with messages safely as per Google API Services, Shopify said.

Deconstructing the Shop App

Existing Shopify vendors will love Shop since it lets them "offer an app experience to their clients with no work on their part," Netalico's Lewis told the E-Commerce Times.

The application "places clients in the driver's seat, where they ought to be," Constellation's France brought up. "This is vital. So is the way that clients' personal details won't be sold."

In addition to making things simple for both buyers and sellers, the Shop app offers some incentive, France watched. "As transportation alternatives and times have been overturned amidst stay-at-home requests, the capacity to pick among them and track progress is more important than ever."

Going Head to Head With Square

The local search highlight isn't probably going to be used intensely, Lewis said.

"It's significantly more about Shopify attempting to break into the physical market, which Square as of now rules," he told the E-Commerce Times.

Square recently banded together with UPS to coordinate its delivery arrangements into Square's foundation for merchants, a move that could assist it with contending with Shopify.

"Shopify is definitely more e-commerce oriented and e-commerce first than Square - and especially as purchasers move their purchasing to online shipping, they're in a good position to help merchants," Lewis noted.

"This is the capacity to scale out local abilities all-inclusive," he told the E-Commerce Times. "Uniting little dealers and giving them the devices of Google and Amazon at scale."

The Shop application gives independent companies "undertaking class abilities at the SMB level," Wang said. It is "the extension among physical retail and internet business. It's Shopify's push to go much further downmarket to local retailers and bring them into the e-commerce age."
